Observatoire Hommes-Milieux - bassin minier de Provence
Welcome to the Human-Environment Observatory of the Provence Coal Basin
The “Observatoire Hommes-Milieux”, OHM, (Human-Environment Observatory) of Provence Coal Basin has been established by the CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research) as a project dedicated to studying Human-Nature relationships and interactions. It is placed under the authority of the Institute for Ecology and Environment, INEE.
The conceptual aim of the project is the interdisciplinary exploration of Human-Environment relations in a fast moving area characterized by some type of systemic rupture resulting from human activity. As a region meeting the criteria, the Provence Coal Basin has been chosen to implement the project.
